DIGITAL ELEMENTS GIVE WAY TO ANALOG ONES
As much as I enjoyed bridging the analog-digital divide with augmented reality in the past, I am now driven in a more non-digital direction. Replacing the digital expanded elements with analog ones, gives me the freedom to include new materials and techniques into my work. Because at the end, it´s all about exploring, learning, failing and adding as much visual contrast as possible. Right?
ABOUT THE SERIES:
BAD HABITS - A WHIMSICAL COLLAGE OF EVERYDAY LIFE
The collage of two-dimensional paintings, drawings, and three-dimensional sculptural elements explores the complex relationship between bad habits in art and daily life. It's a mash-up of media that's like a wild ride through the absurdity of daily life. Viewed as a whole, the collage offers a visual pathway to understanding the world and personal flaws.
Through the addition, subtraction, and rearrangement of visual information, a dynamic is created, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own behavior. Why are bad habits so enticing, even when we know their harmful effects? And: are they really that bad if we tend to enjoy them so badly? The answer lies in human nature - in the relentless temptation to accept the duality of our being. Or, as I would describe it: It's the comedy of human nature - the eternal struggle between our better and funnier halves. So, join the fun of impefection and let this collage tickle your funny bone while nudging you to reflect on your own antics. After all, life's too short not to laugh at our foibles and embrace the delightful chaos of our existence!
